As our final project in the class, we will be publishing (print and digital) a class anthology of 3 page comics. This will require many different tasks throughout the term. As contributors to the anthology, we will all perform tasks on every single team, so these positions are leadership roles--people to direct and organize our collective labor. Please review the following roles and apply for your top 3 choices. NOTE! Executive roles will need to meet/zoom meet between 3 and 4 times outside of class throughout the term.

EDITORIAL TEAM
Editor in Chief - The editor in chief oversees all aspects of the publication. This person should have excellent leadership and "people skills." A major work of this role is to develop and produce a clear "vision" for the publication. (Must be able to zoom or meet outside of class between 3 and 4 times.)
Managing Editor - The managing editor oversees workflow and deadlines. This person should have excellent organization and communication skills. A major work of this role is to create and enforce deadlines for all of the teams in order to create a publication by the end of the term.
Assistant Editor - The assistant editor works with the other editors to maintain vision and workflow. This person should have excellent communication and delegation skills. A major work of this role is to follow up with other teams and report back to the editors.
Copywriter - The copywriter creates or edits "copy" or "content" in the publication and PR. This person should have excellent composition and creative skills. A major work of this role is to create the work that fits "inbetween" the content--introductions, descriptions, promotions, etc. (They should also probably have some proofreading skills.)
Proofreader - The proofreader checks publications and PR copy for problems--especially grammar, but also potential pitfalls and misinterpretations. This person should have excellent language and "social awareness" skills. A major work of this role is to ensure that no small detail reflects poorly on the work as a whole. (They should also probably have some copywriting skills.)
ART TEAM
Art Director - The art director oversees all aspects of the art in the publications and PR. This person should have excellent leadership and "vision" skills. A major work of this role is to promote a kind of continuity in the art while respecting each artist's work and style. (Must be able to zoom or meet outside of class between 3 and 4 times.)
Senior Designer - The senior designer oversees the technical aspects of the publication. This person should have good Adobe Creative Suite (or other graphic design program) and excellent communication skills. A major work of this role is to set up clear and precise requirements for the size, shape, form the publication requires.
Assistant Designer - The assistant designer oversees the publication itself. This person should have excellent Adobe Creative Suite and "detail oriented" skills. A major work of this role is to produce a polished final product that fits the requirements of the printer/online platform.
Designer - The designer helps artists submit and edit their work in the appropriate format in Adobe Suite. This person should have excellent Adobe Creative Suite and digital publication skills. A major work of this role is to ensure that artist work "translates" well into digital and online forms.
Cover Designer - The cover designer works with the teams and artists to create a front and back cover for the publication. This person should have excellent art/design and "vision" skills. A major work of this role is to create a cover that reflects the overall vision for the publication.
PR TEAM
Creative Director - The creative director oversees the creation of promotion and publication materials. This person should have excellent leadership and "people skills." A major work of this role is to serve as a liaison between the Art Director, Production Manager, and Editor in Chief. (Must be able to zoom or meet outside of class between 3 and 4 times.)
Communications Editor - The communications editor oversees the workflow and deadlines for PR materials. This person should have excellent organization communication skills. A major work of this role is to organize an ongoing campaign to promote the publication and artists.
Webmaster - The webmaster oversees the digital publication of the publication and its PR. This person should have excellent web publishing and organizational skills. A major work of this role is to master all the technical details needed to publish online.
Designer (PR) - The PR designer works with the team to create advertisements and social media posts. This person should have excellent art and social media skills. A major work of this role is to create the "content" that promotes the publication and its artists while maintaining the "vision" for the publication.
Photographer - The photographer takes and edits the photos for PR and potentially the headshots for the index of artists. This person should have excellent photography and social media skills. A major work of this role is to document and promote the publication and its artists.
PRODUCTION TEAM
Production Manager - The production manager oversees all the physical elements of the publication. This person should have excellent organizational and business skills. A major role of this work is to create a vision for how the publication will be printed and communicate with the printer if one is selected. (Must be able to zoom or meet outside of class between 3 and 4 times.)
Production Assistant - The production assistant works with the production manager and fundraiser to organize the budget and physical production of the publication. This person should have excellent organization and communication skills. A major work of this role is to create and enforce a timeline for production/printing.
Fundraiser/crowdfunder - The fundraiser/crowdfunder will create a campaign to reach a budget (or levels of a budget) for publication. This person should have excellent business and fundraising skills. A major work of this role is to establish an ambitious but attainable goal and oversee its execution.
Production Specialist - The production specialist oversees the finer details of the printed publication--ink, paper quality/type, binding, etc. This person should have excellent design and detail skills. A major work of this role is to select the materials in the production of the publication.
Technician - The technician oversees the physical reception, production, and distribution of the publication. This person should have excellent organizational and logistical skills. A major work of this role is to receive and distribute the publications or the actual assembly of them if that is required.
