After reading Hirshfields chapter of indirection, I got the meaning more or so looking deeper into the context of these meanings such as digging deeper to look for the hidden meanings and truth. I enjoyed this chapter as well as this poem.

I think that this poem goes really well with this section in Nine Gates on indirection as well! There is a lot that the poem leaves unsaid meaning much is left to interpretation. I think the speaker's indirectness shows a sense of timidity or even uncertainty in how he or she feels about the events mentioned.
I agree with you! I believe that this poem uses a lot of imagery and different phrases that could signify loss or a toxic situation. All poems can be interpreted in different ways.
