The voice in this poem is apparent to me because it feels like I'm being brought into the world of someone who is grieving for their mother. A mother who passed away. The story is brought to life by this person continuously revisiting a memory of his or her mother.
Interesting. I read this as a poem more about the grief of losing a boyfriend/husband.
