Hi everyone!
I forgot to mention this is class, but among the many reasons we are listening to the text instead of just reading it, is that it frees your hands to spiral, doodle, sketch, and write while listening. Please fill a page up in your composition notebook while listening to the text.
You'll want to read the text, too. Re-reading is an important part in building our ability to pay attention to a text. It's also sometimes hard to absorb a lot just by listening. So as you select an example poem that draws attention involving sound, you probably want to crack that book open.
Good luck! I'm looking forward to discussion your selections in class on Thursday!
