Loren's Log Library Day
The class met in Dirac library which was located right by the chemistry building. We met with a librarian and talked about how to do research, we were first introduced to google and how it is an amazing place to do some research. The librarian mentioned that the internet is known to be the best way to find sources for research papers, but we were also warned that there are some fake information roaming on the internet that can make a research paper invalid. Also, before submitting a research paper, always make sure to add the name of the author or website to give them credit, since it is not your own work. We also learned about a tool called “Ask the Librarian tool”, that allows the student to ask questions about help finding research. There are also research guides for FSU students along with a few classes that could be very useful and helpful. Besides all this, my favorite part was learning about the FSU database which is manly used for research papers and projects. There are hundreds of databases to subscribe too, that can really help with a student’s paper in any subject.
