Lindsay's Log
Class started with us writing our predicted grade for this semester by intervals of 7 on an index card. Then Mat read the poem of the day, “Movement Song” by Audre Lorde. Following the poem, we caught up on some Mini- Genre Presentations for a majority of the class time.
Amanda- Sports Journalism
Emily- The Try Guys
Franklin- Honest Trailers
Mat reminded the class to make sure the mini-genre presentation is included on our Wixsite.
After that, he discussed revision options for project 2 (grades are posted on blackboard).
The revision plan is the same as it was for project 1. Go to the RWC and make an appointment if you would like to or have to revise, make sure you make appointments early, they are filling up because of Finals. You need a C- or above on every paper. On class Wednesday, project 3 pitch is due. The pitch should be 30 seconds to 1 minute, don’t forget to be informative and persuasive.
We finished the class by watching a YouTube video on pitches which taught us ways to pitch:
Pixar pitch “Once upon a time” “One day”
Subject-line: peak curiosity (email)
Rhyme: increase processing fluency if it doesn’t fit you must acquit
Questions- more persuasive & likely to move people
Twitter- Most important thing, questions
One-Word: when people say the word, they think of you. Ex. Obama and Forward
