Mat started class by sharing the poem “Armageddon via Telephone Wires” by C. Russell Price. This was a deep poem dealing with sexual assault and abuse. Jarad read his log from the previous class, and we filled out our attendance card outline for project 1 and project 2. Blog #4 was due at the beginning of class, and for this assignment we had to choose between writing about chapter 8 or chapter 9 out of BBG.
Mat reviewed that he does not ever want us to apologize for our writing, and one of his resolutions is to apologize less. He also reminded us that our first draft of project 1 is due this Friday, January 26th, and that we need to sign up for a conference time. We continued our peeling the onion activity, and we were able to give each other suggestions and ask questions about project ideas. Mat recommended that we stay away from movies or long pieces of writing for project 1 because it would be too much information, but he said we could pick a specific scene or chapter that stuck out to us. We are not supposed to email Mat about grades, we should go talk to him in person.
