What makes a story good?

  • You use the personal pronoun “I”

  • Start in the moment “I am sitting”

  • Setting up the setting

  • Create “suspense”

  • People details

  • Specific movements

  • They use voice

  • “interior monologue” – “How bureaucratic of the American government to work that way,” I thought.

  • Dialogue – what people actually say and HOW they actually say it
