• Today we met at Strozier Library. We got some information about checking stuff out of the library:

• -you can check out laptops for 4 hours and it can leave the library

• -you can check out textbooks but they can’t leave the library

• -other items for checkout include calculators, Wii’s, go pros, headphones, and others

• We went to a classroom of computers in the back and logged in

• FSU has over 700 databases that students can use to find good, peer reviewed sources, they are all listed at the library website [https://www.lib.fsu.edu/find-database]

• Make sure you use simple words when using these search engines so that you get the most results

• We signed up for a refworks account which is a program where you can create and save citations

• Three databases we learned about are academic search complete, google scholar, and JSTOR.

• One search lets you search through every book and document at Florida State

• If you have any questions about the library or need help with research, the front desk at Strozier can answer them

• Mat graded our project proposals and reminded that if you need help you can go to his office hours
