We started off class with a discussion about the differences and similarities between “important” and “useful.”

Mat then answered questions we had asked the day before, including whether we would be able to design our wix website further, when and where will meet for conferences, and if we could have our drafts looked at during office hours.

After, we did our first mini presentations, where we watched texts from SNL and The Office.

Mat then had us do our first freewrite, where we talked about a place we felt heard, a place we felt spoken to, and a place where “it’s complicated,” which led into our discussion about our first and second projects.

Project 1 is a narrative, where will write about an encounter with a text in a community where we feel accepted. Our first draft is due July 2nd.

Project 2 is an inquiry, where we will write about a community we are interested in joining.

We went over the details and requirements of the projects, and then we were dismissed.
