This course will develop your skill in identifying, researching, and manipulating genres that are practical to your chosen field of study and that you find interesting.
Genre knowledge and practice will be applied to communities in which you have been or are already a part of, communities you are gravitating toward, and communities for which you have an important message.
What was useful to me in this chapter was the fact that its showed examples of multiple different genres to use for my project 3. The book also gave me different ideas to stay on track and stay organized. What i did not like was the lack of new more modern ideas and ways to spread your genre. All the different genres did not all interest me me so they bored me.
I thought the guide to each step of the project was super helpful for keeping on track when completing it. What wasn't so helpful was that the examples didn't feel like they pertained to me, they are pretty dull and didn't really go with how I picked my genres.
I thought all the examples of the genres and the breakdown of the steps were helpful because it started giving me ideas for project 3. It provides a step by step breakdown which makes the project seem less intimidating. I did not like how it only gave one example of a way to reach our audience.
What was useful from this chapter is the simplified explanation of what a multigenre project is and the inclusion of examples to support the definition. Also, the chapter included a guide or suggested path to take when completing or brainstorming for this project. Yes the chapter included examples, however, the examples were boring and were similar in regard to approach.
What I thought was useful with this chapter was how there was a run through on how to organize this project, and also how there was a checklist to ensure you get a good outcome from the project. With the not useful information there wasn't more modern ways we as creators could've seen ideas to help inspire us. Although not everyone's will be the same.
