This course will develop your skill in identifying, researching, and manipulating genres that are practical to your chosen field of study and that you find interesting.
Genre knowledge and practice will be applied to communities in which you have been or are already a part of, communities you are gravitating toward, and communities for which you have an important message.
Read this chapter by Anne Lamott about shitty first drafts and recursive writing. Make an audio or video recording of your thoughts about the chapter and comment below with a link to the file. Include your name and a brief description of what you talked about.
Remember: we are trying to move our writing toward a "real world" audience, choose purposes that suit our goals and needs, and a tone that is engaging.
