On Wednesday, July 17th we started off our class in a panic after we registered for our courses. We then watched a commercial on our laptops of a lamp and were asked to write things we noticed. After that, Mat handed out flashcards so we could take our quiz on bias in the podcast Fear and Loathing in Homer and Rockville. Once all the quizzes were handed in, we discussed bias in crime rates especially when immigrants are added into the country. We also discussed the importance of "to the extent of" when creating an unbiased statement when writing our own papers. Chris then presented on Area 51 , and Richie presented on Joe Rogan. After, we watched a video on different literary terms like genre and audience. Towards the end of class, Amanda gave the class directions on our pre reading homework on Consider the Lobster. To end the class, we discussed the rules on plagiarism and how it is strictly unallowed.
